Projects
Maybe you do not have the time to commit to writing a service member once a month. Here is how you can still help! We have many projects we are working on. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to help in any way.
All projects can be sent to:
Hugs From Home, Inc
PO Box 313

If you have any questions about the following projects, please email us at info@hugsfromhome.org.
Cards For Our Wounded Service Members
We will be mailing cards and letters to our injured Service Members staying at Army/Navy hospitals. What we need everyone to do is send "thinking of you" cards or letters to our PO Box as often as you'd like. You can even send a stack at a time in the same envelope. Make them out to "Dear Service Member". We can not get individual names at this time because the patients are there at varied times; so feel free to include your address and email in your letters. Please do not include "get well cards". Our service members are not looking for sympathy, they just want to be thought of.
All cards for the wounded must include your first and last name as well as your city and state. All cards must also remained unsealed.
So get started and bring some HUGS to them!!!!!!
Coupons
Send your unwanted, clipped coupons to the families of our military personnel serving overseas.
One of the nicest things you can do with coupons you do not wish to use is to send them to military families overseas. Living overseas on military pay is not easy and these families really need your unwanted coupons to stretch their budgets.
Overseas commissaries stock thousands of national brands we buy here in the States. So, if the coupon is a national brand (especially baby products) send it. Military commissaries will redeem these coupons up to SIX MONTHS after they have expired.
“The Soldiers and their families of USAG Ansbach thank you for remembering us as we service overseas!
We are grateful for the overwhelming generosity we have received and are appreciative of your thoughts, prayers, and kind words.
Thank you for your time and dedication in clipping and sending your coupons. We appreciate all of the extra savings!”
“Dear Valued Volunteer,
On behalf of the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and the members of the Rota Naval community, I would like to thank you for your generosity and continued support. We appreciate the time you invest in sorting the coupons and your additional cost of sending them to our deserving families,
Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. You can be proud to know that you are directly affecting the lives of our military. For all you do, thank you.
Sincerely,
DM
Navy Marine Corps Relief Society”
*We ask that if you can, please send a dollar or two with your coupons to help with shipping. We send 35 pounds of coupons each month to nine different bases around the world.
Cot Blankets For Our Wounded Heroes
We are in need of cot sized quilts for our wounded Heroes that are sent to American military hospitals or combat hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan.
~Blankets should measure no smaller than 46" by 60 ". This measurement uses 2 yards of fabric for the top and 2 yards of fabric for the bottom.
~Use cotton or ploy batting (low loft)
~Sewers have used cotton or fleece fabrics, cotton knits or a combination of fabrics to make the quilts. Many have also made the "no-sew" knotted edge fleece blankets. Crocheted or knitted afghans are wonderful too!
~Please be sure to make a tag with your name and address and attach it to the corner of your quilt so the recipient knows who the maker is.
~If you have any questions about the cot blankets, please email Kristin at kristin@hugsfromhome.org.
